About

A dealer-tech tool built by someone who's been in the stack.

Most "AI for dealers" tools are built by horizontal SaaS founders who've never touched a DMS, an inventory feed, or AutoTrader's syndication spec. Pavedeck is different on purpose.

Before starting Pavedeck, I spent a decade running organic search for hundreds of dealer rooftops at Dealer.com. SEO at the dealership level isn't a marketing problem — it's an inventory problem. The way a dealer merchandises a vehicle determines whether it shows up in search, whether it gets clicks, whether it gets leads, and how long it sits on the lot.

The pattern I watched repeat across hundreds of stores: the dealers who took merchandising seriously sold cars faster and at better margin. The ones who treated it as an afterthought — phone-shot photos, factory VDP copy, monthly price updates — ate the cost in days-on-lot and lost gross.

The tools available to do this well were built for enterprise franchise dealers and priced accordingly. vAuto and HomeNet are excellent products if you can afford them and you're willing to live inside the Cox ecosystem. For independent dealers and even franchise used car departments looking for an alternative, the options got worse fast.

AI changed that. The work that used to require a dedicated $45K/year inventory marketer can now be done in seconds, configured once, applied automatically. Pavedeck is the product I would have built for the dealers I worked with at Dealer.com if it had been technically possible at the time. Now it is.

That's the whole story. AI-native inventory merchandising, by someone who actually knows the stack.

What we believe

A few things we're committed to.

  • Self-serve, always

Independent dealers shouldn't need a sales rep, an annual contract, or a 60-day procurement cycle to try a $300/month tool. Sign up, run a trial, decide. We don't have a sales team because the product is supposed to do that work.

  • Plug into the stack, don't replace it

Every dealer has tried "the all-in-one platform" and gotten burned. Pavedeck does three things very well and integrates with everything else. Your DMS, IMS, website, syndicator — keep what works.

  • Licensed data, not scraped

Pricing intelligence is built on commercially licensed market data (MarketCheck, Black Book, KBB). Defensible legally, defensible to ownership when your used car manager has to explain a pricing call.

  • No retention games

Cancel anytime from the settings menu. No retention call, no clawback, no "let me check with my manager." The product earns the renewal every month or it doesn't.
